MAC Semi-Precious and Fashion Flower Wish-List

So as I'm sure you all know MAC is due to release two new collections here in the UK. Fashion Flower and Semi-Precious.

From what I'm aware Fashion Flower is due to release on July 7th at all MAC counters and stores. As for Semi-Precious, no one seems to be 100% sure. I've been asking around and the original rumour was again July 7th, however some are saying it could be June 30th.

The key with any MAC collection release is that they're usually available to order online a day or two before the release date in stores and counters. So if you've been looking around online and like me, don't have a counter or store you can get to - this is great as you can get the items early depending on if you pay extra for shipping or not. I usually just spend £50 and get free standard shipping and usually have my items within 2 days. So if I manage to order early online, I'll have my items by the day it's released in stores - win!

Fashion Flower has already been released in the US and I believe it sold really well, where as Semi-Precious is due for release at the same time as the US.

The Semi-Precious collection is based all around mineralised products. Mainly, mineralised eye shadows, blushes and skin finishes. If you're familiar with them you know that they're baked and have these gorgeous different colours mixed in, so you could get an entire look from just one of these eye shadows. Also included in this collection is a range of lipsticks and creme sheen lip glasses. This is going to be a ridiculously popular collection so if you plan on ordering or buying at a counter or store, I strongly suggest not delaying.

I personally love the look of the mineralised products, however I have no intention of purchasing any. I personally cannot justify nearly £20 for an eye shadow and I can't use a mineralised blush due to the fact I have oily/combination skin and large pores. I'm also not a fan of any type of lip gloss, albeit having a few, they never get used. I'm more of a lipstick girl.

The Fashion Flower collection has six different categories. Lipstick, lipgelee, eye shadow, beauty powder, mascara and eyeliner.

This collection is definitely more "me". The key thing with this collection however, is quite a few of the items released with this collection are in the permanent line of MAC items, so unless you absolutely have to have them when released with the collection, you can breathe a sigh of relief and worry about buying those things at a later date.

Moving on to my wish list.

Semi-Precious:

Gem of Roses lipstick
Musky Amethyst lipstick
One of a Kind lipstick - this is a shade I've decided I'll only get IF I have the money spare, otherwise I'll skip it.

Fashion Flower:

Ever Hip lipstick - my absolute *must* buy item out of both collections.
Lucky Green eye shadow
Free To Be eye shadow

Both of these eye shadows are in the permanent line and I do plan on getting them from the permanent line rather than the limited line with the flower imprint that the shadows will have. I've heard that due to them being pressed more, they're slightly more difficult than the permanent ones to get use out of.

I'm pretty sure that's it. I figure if I miss the Semi-Precious collection if it's released early and my items are sold out, I'll just buy the items from Fashion Flower and other items from the permanent line on my list.

MAC Haul

Hey everyone,

So the last time I made a MAC Haul, I'd actually made another order after posting that - however I hadn't posted it on here yet. Well, I've made another one since so I decided to put 'em both together and do one big haul post. Also within these two Hauls is where I made my Surf Baby haul - I've already made a post about that but I'll include them in the list and the photo again in case you haven't checked it out.

Permanent line

Unfortunately, this photo isn't all that great and everything looks pretty much exactly the same, haha!

Thankfully, they're not. Anyway, I haven't done individual pictures like the last time simply because the natural lighting here lately has been awful. It's rained all week and when it isn't raining it's dark, cloudy and gloomy. My artificial lighting is well, artificial. I've yet to invest in proper daylight bulbs - however I definitely need to get on that as soon as I have spare cash - so mid-July. Until then, unfortunately, my money is tied up with other things.

So here is what I got, I'll give you the list and the description of the shadow.

Eyeshadows:

Plumage - Dusky peacock. Finish: Matte²
Swiss Chocolate - Muted reddish brown. Finish: Matte
Embark - Intense reddish brown. Finish: Matte
Surf USA - Frosted teal. Finish: Frost
Swell Baby - Mid-tone grey. Finish: Satin
Sun Blonde - Dirty yellow gold. Finish: Frost
Short Shorts - Frosty white champagne. Finish: Frost

Blush:

Well Dressed - Immaculate pink. Finish: Satin
Fleur Power - Soft bright pinkish-coral. Finish: Satin

In this picture you can at least see them all looking different from each other, lol. Yay for flash helping out here. I love all of this so far, very happy with my purchases! :)

MAC Bloggers Obsession

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to make a quick post before I went back to sleep seeing as it's 4:09am!

As I'm sure most of you know, MAC has just released their Bloggers Obsession Collection online! It's unfortunately only being sold online and in North America - a big fat "boo" to MAC for not loving us International MAC lovers as much!

Now then, on to the reason for this post!

My dear friend Jen over at Five by Five has been kind enough to CP me the specific shadow I wanted, as well as a couple of other things I'd like from the US but I'm unable to get here in the UK.

If you follow me on Twitter you have probably seen me tweet about it - but for those of you who may not, the shadow I wanted more than anything was Jealousy Wakes.

Jealousy Wakes is Christine's (Temptalia) eye shadow that she specifically made! It's desrcibed as an emerald green with teal and gold shimmer. It has a veluxe pearl finish. -- As you get to know me more, you'll discover blues, teals and greens are some of my biggest weaknesses with eye shadows. I've been hauling a lot of neutrals lately, but they work well with bright colours!

Anyway, I just wanted to say a big massive "thank you" to Jen for this, it means so much to me! I can finally go back to sleep, and stay asleep, knowing that she and I will both have this gorgeous eye shadow.

I have plans to do some major swatching tomorrow (today, technically) and I already have another post written up and just waiting for the pictures to be added, so look out for that!

MAC Surf Baby Haul

Hey everyone,

So, unfortunately I was a little slow on the MAC Surf Baby collection, so even more unfortunately I missed out on two of the items I really wanted, as I'm sure you have all seen or have even bought yourself it's the My Paradise Blush and the Hibiscus lipstick. However, in saying that, I did manage to snag myself four of the eyeshadows, like I said in my first post, I am a definite MAC newbie so my collection is small, which completely justified buying them... right? Right.


So here they are. Sun Blonde, Short Shorts, Surf USA and Swell Baby.

I currently don't have any swatches of them however if anyone would like me to do so, feel free to ask and I'll have them posted up immediately.

MAC Haul

Hi everyone,

So I figured for my first post, what better way to kick off a cosmetic blog than making a Haul post?

Before we get down to it, I'd just like to say I am a complete MAC newbie. I've read blogs and watched YouTube videos for years however I admit to having limited funds so I only get to make MAC purchases/hauls every now and then and have quite a small collection.

Now that's over, down to the goodies!


Humid: Described on the MAC website as an "Intense green with shimmer" and I completely agree. This is definitely a gorgeous colour. It is also a Frost finish.




Cranberry: Described on the MAC website as a "Red-plum with pink shimmer" which again, it is. This is one colour I have wanted for a very long time and it has not disappointed me. This is also a Frost finish.




Sketch: Described on the MAC website as "Burgundy with red shimmer" I have to agree/disagree with this comment at the moment as when I quickly swatched it, I definitely saw the burgundy, but I didn't receive any shimmer pay off. However you can see the shimmer in the pot, so perhaps I need to play with it more. This is a Velvet finished eyeshadow.




Goldmine: Described on the MAC website as "Intense gold with shimmer" I have to agree, it is that. Saying that, photographing this was difficult. It looks so very light in the picture but swatched it really is a beautiful gold with shimmer. This is a Frost finish.







Club: Described on the MAC website as "Red-brown with green pearl". I got this shadow on reccomendation from several different ladies. It is one of the most unique shades I have ever come across. Swatched lightly on the skin, it's simply a red-brown, however as you can see in the photo there is that green duo-chrome which is just absolutely gorgeous if you apply it over a darker/green base. This is a Satin finish eyeshadow.






Pink Swoon: Described on the MAC website as "Clearly pink". It is just that. This is an absolutely gorgeous light pink blush that is a Sheertone finish, meaning it applies very sheerly however it is definitely a buildable colour and looks amazing.
