My Storage

Hey everyone,

So on Sunday after the #bbloggers discussion on Twitter I asked if people would like to see how my storage was set up in a blog post.  I had several people say yes, so I figured I'd post up some quick photos to show you how it looks.

Keep in mind, this isn't perfect.  There is room for improvement and more organising I'd like done, the only problem is my lack of room in my bedroom for more.. so I make do with what I have.  Also please keep in mind, this isn't clean properly.  I do have some cleaning to get done but well, I was just too lazy lol.

So here we go. Also, all pictures are clickable so you can see them clearer full size.

This is my vanity.  As you can see, I have a big 3-way mirror attached and a small mirror that lights up with a regular side and a magnified side.  I have four little drawers to the right, a desk organiser and some pen holders.

This is just a close up of my desk organiser.  I bought this at Ryman for about £10 or so.  In here I keep everything used on a regular basis.  Foundation, concealer, mascara, eyebrow pencil, clear mascara for my eyebrows, UDPP, lip balm, lash curlers, loose powder, lipbalm, NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk, lipliners & lipsticks etc.  In the very back I keep MAC brush cleanser in a little spray bottle, MAX Fix+ and other random crap.  I like to keep my small Urban Decay 24/7 pencils in that little pull out drawer as they fit perfectly and then don't get lost amongst other things.

Again, just a close up of the 4 mini drawers I keep on my vanity.  I bought this at Asda for about £5.  In the top drawer I keep my face products, second drawer I keep random eye products, third drawer is lipsticks and fourth drawer is my MAC drawer.  On top of this I keep q-tips, my make-up bag for when I go out, a couple pairs of false eye lashes and some blotting papers.

This is just where I keep my brushes.  I separate them by face and eye.  I bought these at Tesco for perhaps £2 each or so, they're just mesh pen holders.  They weren't at all expensive and they do the job great.

To the right of my vanity, I have this four drawer unit I picked up at Wilkinsons, I'm pretty sure it was about £15.  In the top drawer is all my nail stuff.  Polish, remover, orange sticks, cotton, konad stamper and plates and my nail wheels.  Second drawer I keep all of my palettes as my vanity isn't big enough for a file sorter so I can't organise them as I'd like.  Third drawer is hair stuff. Brushes, combs, hair dryer, straighteners, leave-in conditioner, heat defense spray etc.  Fourth drawer is all LUSH.  I have a big obsession with LUSH.  I have a ton of soaps, bath bombs, bath melts etc in there.

This is on top of my four drawer unit.  I bought these at Morrisons, I think a pack of four was £1.99 or so?  Just some baskets full of crap that really, need organising.  The back one is the biggest mess.  It has a couple perfumes, body sprays, back up UDPP, tissues, teeth whitener, deoderant, LUSH massage bar, etc.  The front basket has all of my skincare stuff.  Toners, moisturisers, spot treatments and hand sanitizer.

Please excuse my knee and my reflection.  I took this photo just so you could see the shape of my vanity.  I'm pretty sure you actually can't buy them like this anymore.  My Mom gave this to me as it was hers when she was growing up.  It's kept in pretty great condition, I must admit.  I also forgot to mention I keep a towel on my vanity for when I'm spot cleaning my brushes.  I also always leave my make-up wipes upside down so that the top ones don't dry out.

I hope this has been some-what helpful to at least one of you.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I'll reply the best I can.

  5. Rachel - Aw thank you! Yeah, I'd change mine all the time if I had the room, but I love that everything is basically a grey colour. Mismatched would drive me insane!

Jade - thanks for commenting, glad I could be of help!

Jen - I do too, it's always a great way to find new ideas of storing things you haven't though of yourself, lol.

JC - Thank you, I love that it's classic, I just wish it was bigger as I have absolutely no room. I try and keep it as clean as possible. :)
