FOTD

Hey everyone,

So today I am going to do my FOTD.

If you follow me on Twitter, you may know that I wanted to play with my makeup today but couldn't figure out exactly what I wanted to do.

Well, the lovely Sam, owner of MAF gave me a challenge.  Create a look using only 3 eye shadow colours.  Red, Yellow and Blue.

Now of course, this sounds easy, right?  Can find a way to put them together and what not.  Hah, boy, did I have trouble.  Now, thankfully she reminded me that these are all primary colours.  So if you mix them, you get other colours.  Had she not reminded me, I honestly think I'd have been in a lot of trouble.

In any case, I went ahead with it all and tried to think of something I could do.  I pulled out my Sugarpill quads... and this is what came out of it.

You will notice that yes, my hair is massive.  Haha.  I french braided it last night when it was wet and took it out after doing my makeup.  Oh well!

So, what did I use for this look?

Face
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - Ivory
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer - 1 Fair
Collection 2000 Sheer Loose Powder - 1 Barely There
MAC Blush - Well Dressed
Eyes
UDPP
NYX Jumbo Eye shadow Pencil - Milk
Sugarpill Buttercupcake (Yellow)
Sugarpill Love+ (Red)
Sugarpill Afterparty (Blue)
MAC Vanilla - Highlight
Stila Smudgestick - Stingray
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara - Black
MAC Impeccable Brow Pencil - Dirty Blonde
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara - 003 Extreme Black
Lips
LUSH Lip Scrub
Carmex Original Lipbalm
MAC Gem of Roses

I tried to take a close up of my eye, but I still haven't quite got that down yet, however I will show you what came out of it anyway!

I realise it looks like I used a orange and purple - but nope!  I remembered red and blue mixed together makes purple, and yellow and red makes orange, WIN.

I'm not sure if you can see in the first photo and as I forgot to take a photo with my eye actually open.. hah.. I also mixed yellow and blue on the lower lash line to make a yellow, green and then blue gradient.

I am actually feeling quite proud of myself for managing to do this, I really didn't think I would.

I do still think I have a long way to go on my skills but I'm really pleased with how this turned out.  So much that my 14yr old brother even complimented me on it - SHOCK!

Last photo!

I have to admit, I love this photo.  I'm not quite sure why, I just do.

Have you ever done this kind of challenge before?  If not, I challenge you to do this and see what you can come up with.
